Herbal Medicine
Herbal medicine has been around for thousands of years. In fact, many drugs today came from constituents in herbs. It was only in 1948 when the NHS was established that it faded into the background.
Today herbal medicine is once again recognised and accepted as an established and effective way of safely treating patients.

The herbs work with the body to restore tissues back to health. Instead of focusing on the symptoms the herbalist works closely with their patient to get to the root cause of a presenting condition.
Herbs contain many constituents which can affect the tissues differently, whether they are heating, cooling, moistening, drying as well as possessing anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal properties to name a few.
The herbalist carefully chooses a selection of herbs specific for each patient, no two people with the same condition will have the same prescription. They are tailor made for the individual’s needs.
Some herbs have a specific organ or tissue they excel in healing, but the most fascinating and magical part of herbs is the ability of one herb to work on different tissues and organs in many ways.
Sometimes we will treat acute conditions which need fast, short-term action but many treatments are longer term and can take several months or more to effect a change especially if the condition has been ongoing for many years. It can take time to restore tissues back to health.
